With the mass check, you can check an entire Excel or CSV file. The costs for this are displayed after you upload your file. Only then do you decide whether you want to carry out the validation or not. There is no fixed quantity limit.  However, the maximum file size is limited to 50 MB. 

Click on "Upload now" to select your file and then activate your desired exams. As soon as the data has been uploaded, the page "Your exams" opens with a preview of your list and further information. From here you can start the validation or close the window first and run it later. Or delete your data again without validating it.

For large files, you can close the browser or switch off your computer during the checks. The check continues in the background. After successful validation, you will receive an e-mail with the statistics for your information. Now you can download your result file. We will return the same format as you uploaded it. In addition to your input columns, our result columns come out. The names of the output fields and the characteristics of the result codes and texts can be found in the documentation.

For a first impression, you can download and view an input file, the result file and the associated statistics here. These are 20 test cases incl. a small test description in "Free field1". In this example, several tests were carried out simultaneously:

You can use Excel versions from 2003 (xls) to the newest version (xlsx) or CSV files. The header line is important in both cases. Ideally, you name the columns as we have described in the documentation (input fields).

We try to recognise the most common column names automatically, but we cannot guarantee this for every case (e.g. firstname = VN). Upper/lower case is not important in the header line. You can supply any internal columns for this purpose. We ignore these for the validation and return them unchanged in the result file.

If there are several worksheets in an Excel file, only the first worksheet is used. There is no selection from several "sheets".

Please make sure that the mandatory fields for your test(s) are present, e.g. at least the column "email" if you want to start the email check. For more information, see also the documentation or the sample files below.

We try to recognise the character set of a CSV file (Windows-1252, UTF-8, ...) automatically, but you can also select it yourself. Please use only the column separators and text delimiters we have provided in the respective selection list.

If an upload fails, we will try to localise the problem with appropriate error messages and give you tips. Adjust your file and try again. 

TIP: Excel files are less error-prone than CSV files when it comes to encoding (character set). However, make sure that especially the zip (postcode), phone (telephone) and hno (house no.) columns are formatted as "text" so that no leading zeros are cut off.

The house number (hno) can also be contained in the field "street". We always deliver the result separately.

Please supply the telephone number (phone) in one field (area code and telephone number together). Without or with any separator. With or without country code. If necessary, we will determine the country code.

The country can be delivered as a 2-digit country code according to ISO 3166 (e.g. AT, DE, CH) or written out (Germany, Austria, Switzerland). 

Column names that we do not recognise are ignored for validation and returned in the result exactly as they were uploaded. 

The scale prices apply under products mentioned. Should you be placed in a better scale due to the quantity in your file, we will immediately calculate the correct scale price in credits. At the same time, we will credit you with credits for all previous checks in a higher price scale (difference between the new and the old price).

If your available credits are not sufficient for the file to be checked, you will receive a corresponding notice and have to top up your account before the check (buy credits).

We do not charge for empty lines in your file. If, for example, you have only filled 9,500 of 10,000 lines with an e-mail, we only charge for the 9,500 queries for the e-mail check. Of course, you can still run e.g. 10,000 address checks in parallel if all names are filled.

There is a special feature in the "telephone directory" test. We have two pricing models: "Credits per query" and "Credits per hit". In the mass check, you also have the choice - with one difference: if you select both variants ("Telephone directory" and "Telephone directory on hit basis"), you will automatically be charged for the cheaper variant. We can calculate this after the validation. And of course, when we check on a hit basis, we only calculate the hits that we have defined as "green" (usable results).

Advantage: You don't do anything wrong and automatically get the better price. In the cost calculation, we initially assume the price per request.

For the mass check, it is necessary that we store and process your file and enrich it with the results. In this respect, we are commissioned data processors within the meaning of the Federal Data Protection Act. Uploads and downloads take place via our SSL-encrypted website.

We guarantee that we will not pass on your information to third parties or use it in any other way. See also our privacy policy.

After downloading your results, you can delete the file yourself immediately. You will immediately receive our deletion confirmation by e-mail. Please make sure that you have saved the results locally and that the file is readable. 

Important: We take data protection very seriously. If you do not delete your data, we will do so automatically 14 days after the completion of your tests. During this period, you can download the result and the statistics for the first time or again at any time. If you do not collect the result, we will warn you again 2 days before the automatic deletion by e-mail. If you do not react even then, your data will be deleted on the scheduled date. The credits for your exams have already been deducted by then. We sincerely hope that this will not happen.
